Although ISO 37001 is an independent management system in itself, the required measures are designed in such a way that they can be integrated into existing management processes and …
ISO 45001 is an International Standard that specifies requirements for an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system, with guidance for its use, to enable an organization to proactively improve its OH&S performance in preventing injury and ill-health.
ISO 45001 is intended to be applicable to any organization regardless of its size, type and nature. All of its requirements are intended to be integrated into an organization’s own management processes.
ISO 45001 enables an organization, through its OH&S management system, to integrate other aspects of health and safety, such as worker wellness/well-being ; however, it should be noted that an organization can be required by applicable legal requirements to also address such issues
An ISO 45001:2018 based OH&S management system will enable an organization to improve its OH&S performance by :
• developing and implementing an OH&S policy and OH&S objectives
• establishing systematic processes which consider its “ context ” and which take into account its risks and opportunities, and its legal and other requirements
• determining the hazards and OH&S risks associated with its activities; seeking to eliminate them, or putting in controls to minimize their potential effects
• establishing operational controls to manage its OH&S risks and its legal and other requirements
• increasing awareness of its OH&S risks
• evaluating its OH&S performance and seeking to improve it, through taking appropriate actions
• ensuring workers take an active role in OH&S matters
In combination these measures will ensure that an organization’s reputation as a safe place to work will be promoted, and can have more direct benefits, such as :
• improving its ability to respond to regulatory compliance issues
• reducing the overall costs of incidents
• reducing downtime and the costs of disruption to operations
• reducing the cost of insurance premiums
• reducing absenteeism and employee turnover rates
• recognition for having achieved an international benchmark (which may in turn influence customers who are concerned about their social responsibilities)
The main purpose of the revision is to provide a set of common and stable requirements for at least the next 10 years. This will be possible due to the requirement that all management systems standard use the same high level structure as a base.
The purpose of ISO 14001:2015 is to provide organizations with a framework to protect the environment and respond to changing environmental conditions in balance with socio economic needs. It specifies requirements that enable an organization to achieve the intended outcomes it sets for its EMS. An approach to environmental management can provide top management with information to build success over the long term
ISO 14001:2015 is structured around the High-Level Structure proposed in Annex SL for all ISO management systems. It includes, in addition to the usual 3 introductory clauses, 7 basic clauses common to all management system standards. They are: Context of the organization, Leadership, Planning of the EMS, Support, Operation, Performance evaluation and Improvement. They replace current EMS clauses 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4. 4.5 and 4.6. This structure is intended to provide a coherent presentation of requirements rather than a model for documenting an organization’s policies, objectives and processes.
New ISO 14001:2015 shows that is not enough managing environmental aspects associated to the purchasing of products or services, but it’s necessary go a step further, influencing on environmental aspects related to its design, manufacturing processes and the further using of the products and services (life cycle).
On the other hand, external communication now it’s not an option. It’s now a mandatory item if it’s required by its own compliance obligations, or expectative of the relevant interested parties.
This new clause regroups well known requirements but with new emphasis on evaluation of data from appropriate sources to provide relevant information for top management decision making. It requires evidence of the evaluation of results of monitoring and measurement, not just their analysis.
The organization has to considered what, how and when to measure and prove that the outcomes from this decision result in appropriate monitoring of the environmental performance and effectiveness of the EMS. Information on environmental performance now also includes the use of trends and indicators

The key focuses of the ISO 14001:2015 revision were to enhance clarity and compatibility with other management system standards.
ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems registration provides a set of uniform requirements for a quality management system. A number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, support of top management, the process approach and continual improvement form the basis for the standard.
The newly revised ISO 9001:2015 responds to the latest market developments, and is more compatible with other management systems, such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001, thanks to an updated, higher-level structure.
ISO 9001:2015 comes with a bunch of new terms. This is partly in recognition of the fact that many organizations no longer sell widgets – they sell services, and some terms in past versions of ISO 9001 were confusing. In addition, some of these changes in terminology are indicative of wider changes that are quite significant. These new and altered terms should lead to improved awareness and general understanding of ISO 9001.
The revision of ISO 9001:2015 introduces a new 10 clause structure, many new requirements and many terms. Users will need to take into consideration that changes may be necessary to their QMS
